University Intern Counseling Program

The Brea Resource Center Counseling program utilizes graduate degree-level university students as interns. Full clinical supervision is provided to meet university and state requirements for fieldwork and licensing hours to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Counseling

Families and individuals often struggle with stress from work, from parenting, from culture changes, relationships, and finance. The Brea Resource Center (BRC) offers affordable counseling for individuals of all ages, as well as for family groups.

Marriage and Family Therapist Trainees deal with a wide range of issues including depression, bereavement, anxiety, and couples communication. They can help families cope with divorce, anger issues, discipline, and other interpersonal dynamics. Counseling can ease crisis situations and feelings of isolation. Counseling is conducted in a quiet, private setting within offices at the Brea Civic and Cultural Center.

Counseling hours are by appointment only Monday through Friday. Session fees range from $30 to $50 for Brea residents, with a one-time intake fee; and $40 to $60 for non-residents, with a one-time intake fee. The process is simple! To get started please call the Brea Resource Center at 714-990-7150 to set up an intake appointment with one of our staff members.
