Brea 2050: Where Opportunity Meets Community
(Focused General Plan Update and Brea Core Specific Plan Update)
The City’s current General Plan was adopted in 2003, with the horizon year of 2020. There has been a number of amendments to the General Plan since then; however, these amendments were limited in their nature. Given that the 20-year horizon year has passed and that the past amendments to the 2003 General Plan have been limited in their nature, the City has identified a need for a focused update of the City’s General Plan. In addition, Brea Core Specific Plan, which is the phase two of the larger Brea Core improvement effort following the Brea Connecting the Core Active Transportation Plan adopted in 2020, has been identified to be part of the focused General Plan update. As such, the City has officially kicked-off the Focused General Plan Update/Brea Core Specific Plan project in March 2024.
