As part of the Brea 2050 project (Focused General Plan Update & Brea Core Specific Plan), the City has released the Draft Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR). The Draft is available to view online, and provide comments via email or postal mail until March 30. At this time, the City will hold a Community Open House to provide an opportunity for the public to allow review and provide their comments in person.

The Economic Development Division launched Business Connect Hours, where businesses, property owners, and entrepreneurs can drop-in to the Brea Civic & Cultural Center to obtain a variety of resources and one-on-one interaction with City staff, aimed to help navigate how to start, manage, and grow their businesses. 

Resources include, but are not limited to:

• Retail Visitation/Foot-Traffic Analysis Reports
• Site Selection Assistance
• Tenant Identification/Void Analysis
• Local Demographics
• Permit/Entitlement Process Navigation
• Business License Information
• Resource Referrals

The Business Connect Hours will take place every Wednesday from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. No appointment is needed.

Please note: Wednesday, April 8, there will be no business connect hours. 

The Brea Resource Center offers counseling to individuals and families who are seeking assistance for mental health care that are professional, accessible and confidential. The Resource Center also offers assistance to Veterans, the older adult community, homeless individuals and families who need financial assistance.

The Community Development Department has partnered with the Orange County and Inland Empire Small Business Development Center to host a Small Business Clinic in Brea. Scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, the Small Business Clinic will offer one-on-one consulting with business professionals. Business owners and entrepreneurs located in Brea can receive assistance and inquire about their immediate marketing, operations, or financial assessment needs. Appointments for this free service will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

A new development project located at 3200 Nasa Street (at the northwest corner of Surveyor Ave. & Nasa St.) is scheduled to be constructed by Oltmans Construction.

This project includes the construction of an extension to the Tracks at Brea bike trail. This construction requires a closure to the existing bike trail located adjacent to the development. As such pedestrian access will be rerouted by a detour for the Tracks at Brea that directs pedestrians from the intersection of S. Kraemer Blvd. & Orbiter St., north to the intersection of E Birch St & S. Kraemer Blvd., east to the intersection of E Birch St & Voyager Ave., south to the intersection of Voyager Ave & Enterprise St., east to the intersection of Surveyor Ave & Enterprise St., and south to the intersection of Surveyor Ave and the Tracks at Brea bike trial.

These detours will remain in place for the full duration of the project, estimated to last 11 months, from August 18, 2025, through July 22, 2026.
