Brea Gallery is committed to continuing its tradition of presenting a contemporary survey of art in California, highlighting emerging art movements throughout the state. This open call exhibition has expanded significantly over the years, establishing a foundation for enduring relationships between artists and their communities, and serving as a key resource for identifying talent for our other exhibitions.


CPSA 32nd Annual Juried Exhibition

July 31 - September 15, 2024


This annual international exhibition returns to Brea to showcase the amazing possibilities of colored pencils. Previously seen in 2019, The Colored Pencil Society of America sets the standard for works that challenge preconceptions of the medium. It offers over $20,000 in cash awards, including a prestigious Best of Show (CIPPY) Award. In addition to the gallery exhibition, the selected artwork and award winners are featured on the CPSA website and in the CPSA news magazine.


99 Voices in Pastel: 
Pastel Society of the West Coast

October 12 - December 6, 2024


Brea Gallery is proud to present 99 Voices in Pastel by the artists of the Pastel Society of the West Coast. Founded in 1985, the Pastel Society of the West Coast has grown to become the second largest pastel association in the United States. PSWC’s mission is to provide opportunities and encourage the use of pastels with education and competition. The group offers workshops, demonstrations, and regional events throughout the country. They also hold two major competitions each year, awarding thousands of dollars to outstanding artists.
