Brea Athletic Facility Use & Allocation

Youth Sports User Group Athletic Facility Allocation

The City of Brea partners with multiple youth sports user groups based out of Brea to bring a wide-breadth of opportunities our residents can choose from. These groups are allocated time at our parks to utilize the sports facilities on a first-priority basis. During their allocated times, any other user of the space must give way for the allocated group. Please see our Facility Use and Allocation Policy as well as our Park Ordinance for more details.

Sports group organizations are not permitted to utilize City fields unless they have gone through the field rental process or are an approved Brea based non-profit group. See Ordinance No. 1109, Section 12.00.120 Scheduled Use Sports Fields, Parks, Trails, and Recreational Facilities.

Athletic Facility Rentals

The City of Brea Facility Use and Allocation Policy prohibits recurring rentals for all of our ballfields. Individuals or groups may rent ballfields in Brea once every six months. Rentals are all subject to availability. The City of Brea only rents athletic field space and the Brea Community Center Basketball Gymnasium. Tennis courts are not available for rent.

Applicants must submit a completed City of Brea Athletic Facility Rental Application Form to the Brea Community Services Department at least 30 days in advance of the rental date requested. If a request is not submitted at least 30 days in advance, it may be subject to immediate denial. All rental requests are subject to facility and staffing availability. Facility rental rates are listed on page 2 of the application form.

Insurance coverage is required for all athletic facility rentals. Applicants may provide their own insurance, but it must meet our coverage requirements. Applicants may purchase one-time rental insurance coverage through our approved third-party vendor. See page 3 on the City of Brea Athletic Facility Rental Application Form for more details.

Athletic Facility Lighting

The City of Brea only turns on lighting for facility use if it is for Approved Youth Sports User Group use, city use, or facility rentals.  Fields will not be lit for public use. Exceptions to this rule are the outdoor basketball courts at various Brea parks and Country Hills Park and Founder's Park tennis courts.
