Submit Projects for Love Brea

This year Love Brea is taking place on Saturday, April 27. Love Brea is a great opportunity to serve our community and join a movement that is spreading across California. Service projects range from helping organize in a food pantry to landscaping. Projects must be completed within a 2 - 3-hour window for the day. Do you have a project idea for this year or maybe you have a neighbor in need of some extra help? Submit your project today!

Volunteer on the Cultural Arts Commission


The City of Brea is currently accepting applications for an unscheduled vacancy on the Cultural Arts Commission. 

The Cultural Arts Commission helps to identify the cultural need and interests of the community and recommends various ways to broaden community participation in the arts. This commission is directly involved with the City of Brea Art Gallery and the Curtis Theatre, as well as other culturally-oriented events ad programs.

The deadline for applying for the Cultural Arts Commission unscheduled vacancy is Monday, March 4 at 5:30 p.m. Interviews will be held on Thursday, March 7.

Engage with Your City


Engage Brea, Understanding Your City is being offered again this spring. This eight-week program is hosted by the City, in partnership with California State University, Fullerton Professor Scott Spitzer, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Political Science. This program is a unique opportunity for Brea residents to have one-on-one experiences with City staff and local elected officials. It’s ideal for those interested in further engaging with their local government and gaining knowledge about how City government is organized and managed.

Classes will be held on Thursday evenings, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., from March 21 – May 2, culminating at the May 7 City Council meeting. Visit the City’s website for more details and to register. Applications close on March 18.

Kid's Free Fishing Derby


Join Supervisor Doug Chaffee for the Fourth District Kid’s Fishing Derby on Saturday, March 9, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Tri-City Park located at 2301 Kraemer Blvd., Placentia. 

Residents of the Fourth District, including the cities of Stanton, Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra, Brea, Placentia, and portions of Anaheim, may RSVP for the Kids Fishing Derby until event capacity is reached. 

Kids ages 6 to 15 may participate in the Fishing Derby. Fishing rods and bait will be available at no-cost, while supplies last.
