As a new year begins, we traditionally look back and appreciate the memories and accomplishments of the past year. The City of Brea would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their constant support and contribution to making Brea the special community it is. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you, and we wish you a year full of success, good health, and prosperity. Here’s to making great memories in Brea in the New Year!

New Parking Permit Software

If you use on-street, overnight parking in Brea, be sure to apply for your new overnight parking permit for 2025. Without a visible 2025 parking permit on your vehicle, vehicles can be ticketed if left on public streets between the hours of 2:00 – 6:00 a.m.

The City has transitioned to a new software for overnight parking permit applications. All permit applications will be processed in the new software system. Create your account by visiting: cityofbrea.gov/parkingpermits

Parking permits are $22 if purchased online or $34 if purchased in person at the Brea Civic & Cultural Center.

Holiday Tree Collection

Real Holiday trees will be collected curbside by Republic Services now until Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Please follow the following guidelines:

  • Make sure the tree is bare. Remove all decorations (lights, ornaments, tinsel, garland, tree stand).
  • Set tree at the curb or next to dumpsters in your complex. If the tree is over six feet tall, cut it in half for easier collection.
  • Trees in bags or with flocking are not recyclable. Cut and place flocked trees in the trash container, or if extra-large, schedule a bulky item pick up.
  • If you miss the collection window, cut the bare tree into pieces so that it will fit into your yard waste container with the lid closed.

Artificial Trees:

  • Reuse: If you use an artificial tree, consider packing it up for next year.
  • Donation: If you no longer need the tree and it is in good condition, consider donating it to a local organization or secondhand store.
  • Disposal: If discarding, place the artificial tree or wreath into the trash container, or schedule a bulky item pickup.

Artificial trees, wreaths, and flocked trees are not recyclable. For more recycling information visit here.
