In observance of the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays, City of Brea administrative offices will be closed from Thursday, December 23 through Friday, December 31.
Trash Collection
There will be no scheduled service interruptions due to the Christmas and New Year's holidays. However, Republic Services notified staff that residential routes are running behind schedule. The accumulated waste, plus extra holiday waste, add time to the collection process. In addition, rain is in the forecast which can slow down progress. Republic plans to run recovery routes on Sunday, December 26 for those who did not receive trash collection service on Friday, December 24.
Street Sweeping
There will be no street sweeping on December 23 and 31. Street sweeping for Thursday, December 23 will be swept on Wednesday, December 22, and sweeping times will vary on this day.
Christmas Tree Collection
Christmas trees will be collected and recycled beginning December 27 – January 7. When disposing, please cut up natural trees and place them in the brown yard waste container. If your tree is over 6 feet, it can be cut in half and placed at the curb. Be sure to remove all decorations and the stand. Trees with flocking or in bags are not recyclable. Cut and place them in the black trash container or schedule a bulky item pick-up. For more information, please call Republic Services at 714-238-2444.
Roll-off bins will also be available from December 27 - January 7 for residents to dispose of trees.
