Brea is discussing the option to develop districts for use during future City elections. Now is your opportunity to contribute and shape Brea’s future!
Currently, Brea uses an at-large election system in which all voters in the City have the opportunity to vote for candidates for all five (5) seats on the City Council. City Council candidates may reside anywhere in the City and they each provide city-wide representation. A by-district election system is one in which the City is physically divided into voting districts, each with one (1) Council Member who resides in the district and is chosen by the electors residing in that corresponding district.
What would districts mean to you? What would you consider your district within Brea? Is there a park, school, major road or intersection nearby? Does your neighborhood have common concerns or is within a particular development? Share your thoughts with us – the districts are up to you!

Attend these scheduled Public Hearings to learn about the districting process and share your thoughts with us.
- Monday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m.
The meetings will take place with the Brea City Council in the Chambers. The community is encouraged to attend in-person or via Zoom. Meetings will also be broadcast live and available for replays on the City’s cable channel and online.
