The Brea Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area & trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, team organization, & disaster medical operations.
Using the training learned in the classroom and during practical exercises, CERT members can then assist others in their neighborhood or workplace immediately following an event when professional emergency responders are not immediately available to help.
The next class take place February 24 - March 14, 2026 on Tuesday/Thursday Evenings and Saturday Morning. CERT training is provided free of charge, but pre-registration is required for each class. The minimum age for the class is 16 years if they attend with a parent.
