The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District (OCMVD) has confirmed that mosquito samples infected with West Nile virus have been found in the City of Brea at Memory Garden Memorial Park and in the area of Whittier Ave and N Puente Street. Posters will be placed in the affected areas and OCMVD will continue to monitor.
Please take precautions when outdoors to avoid bites.
- Limit your time outdoors from dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active
- Wear mosquito repellents, long sleeves, long pants
- Check for standing water and tip out to reduce breeding sources
- Toss out unneeded containers outdoors
