[ARCHIVED] Take a Pledge and Get Prepared for an Emergency

With the recent earthquakes and the heat of the summer upon us, Brea Fire reminds us to get prepared.  Learn about a new grant-funded emergency preparedness program called "California for All" and take a Pledge to get prepared.  The statewide goal is to engage at least one million Californians and teach them how to be better prepared for disasters. The City of Brea aims to encourage at least 1000 Brea residents to “Pledge to Prepare” by 2020.

The State grant will help build up the capacity of Brea’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) by funding additional training, equipment, community outreach efforts and other assistance.  In an emergency, CERT is a valuable extra resource to assist impacted neighborhoods when first responders are inundated with calls.  Watch for Brea Fire personnel and CERT members at city events throughout the year and take the Pledge to Prepare!  The team will provide you with important tips and guidelines and give you the opportunity to “Pledge to Prepare” by having a plan, making a kit and staying informed.

Build your own emergency preparedness kit.
