Garden Grove Fire Chief Tom Schultz passed away after a brief illness on January 27. Chief Schultz previously worked in Brea from 2011 to 2015 and was integral in the success of the Fire Command merger with the City of Fullerton, where he served for a total of 30 years.
Chief Schultz recently retired as Fire Chief of the City of Garden Grove. He was a man of integrity, a dedicated fire professional, a great family man and friend. Chief Schultz spent his entire career serving the public and will be deeply missed.
He mentored future firefighters and fire service leaders as an instructor at Santa Ana College and held leadership positions in organizations such as the Orange County Fire Chiefs’ Association, and several county and state committees.
A public Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2:00 p.m. at EVFree in Fullerton.
