Effective March 1, 2019, Brea's Street Sweeping schedule will change from weekly to twice per month. The change was made in order to manage the cost of providing the service, which has been subsidized for a number of years. The revenue received from the fees charged does not cover the cost of the service. This modification brings the cost of providing this service closer to the fees charged.
Street sweeping in your area will be either the first and third week of the month, or the second and fourth week of the month. Additionally, the Brea City Council has suspended parking enforcement for Brea's Street Sweeping Program for an approximately one-year evaluation period effective immediately. Drivers will no longer be cited for parking on the streets during Street Sweeper Operation. However, residents are still encouraged to park vehicles off the streets on designated sweeping days for proper street cleaning.
