Alarm Permits
The City of Brea requires business and residential alarm users to obtain a valid alarm permit prior to operating an alarm system. The permit fee for business is $50 and residential is $25. All permits must be renewed annually. Click here for more information.
Parking / Traffic Rules
Parking on all city streets is restricted to 30 minutes between the hours of 2-6 a.m. Residents without enough off-street (garage, carport, or driveway) parking can apply for an annual parking permit online. Get detailed information about all parking options.
Vehicles may be cited and/or towed away at owners’ expense for the following parking-related violations:
- Parking in the same spot on public property for over 72 hours
- Having five or more unpaid parking violations
- Expired registration (over six months)
- Parking in a posted "No Parking" zone
- Parking at a red curb or bus zone
- Parking in a crosswalk
- Blocking handicap access
- Parking in an alley
| - Parking with a "for sale" sign on vehicle
- Repairing a vehicle on a public street
- Parking over 18 inches from the curb
- Parking in front of a driveway (even your own)
- Parking on or across a sidewalk
- Parking on the wrong side of the road
- Parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant / fire station
- Parking a commercial vehicle on a city street
- Washing / polishing vehicles on a public street
